New Energy Efficiency Officers hired in Nauru

The Nauru Utilities Authority has hired two new Energy Efficiency Officers (EEOs) to work in the utility's Energy Office. The two new officers, Ms. Dira Ephraim and Mr. Horatio Cook, have started work today and will be conducting community workshops on energy efficiency and conservation in the home, walk-through energy audits, and monitoring electricity consumption using the prepayment meters supplied and installed under REP-5. The EEOs will also conduct energy audits of government buildings and implement any efficiency or conservation measures (e.g. timers on air conditioners, more efficient lighting, ceiling fans to replace air conditioners) as appropriate. The Energy Efficiency Officers and the activities they will undertake are all to be funded by REP-5.
